Ascending the Local Self

In this moment I breath into the presence of the One, Infinite Loving Source of which all things are born. I recognize its omnipotence, omniscience, and its over flowing good in my life.

Each of us are going home. Some of us are aware of this, some of us not so much. What I have found to be very interesting is how the frequency in which my Local Self (Ego) emerges and rears its ugly head. How in a single moment I can go from light to dark fairly quickly. Emotions are running high while mental conceptions are loosing their sanity.

Am I failing? Should I feel guilt for these momentary 'slip ups'?

Of course not. And here is why. Regardless of how I choose to show up in any given moment, my thoughts, words and actions never reduce my capacity to fulfill my only purpose. No matter my choice I am never less than what I truly am. I don't loose any fraction of my Godself because I raised my voice. I did not dissipate any aspect of my Loving, Divine self because I refused to show up as a friend.

I can never, NOT BE, what I truly am.

Such a realization is very liberating. And I don't mean to say that its OK to be an asshole, or to be indifferent to the feelings of others. This is not an attempt at justifying the false notions of my local self. I am merely pointing out the fact that "The outcome of life is never in doubt". And this is a liberating truth because it means that in any moment I choose not to demonstrate my higher nature, I have the very next moment to choose differently and in no way has my capacity to do so been diminished.

So how can one perceive the re-surfacing of our local self into our daily lives?

In the above picture we have a spiraling staircase. This image, I feel, illustrates perfectly the ascending of our awareness to greater altitudes of consciousness. And each step we take up this stair case the view down below changes. We may be looking at the same thing (and indeed we are) throughout the entire journey upward, but the nature of our perception is shifting. Taking in more details, more light emanating from ourselves (everything is a projected thought).

As we harmonize at a particular altitude of awareness we can have an uproar from our local self. And instead of getting down on ourselves, feeling guilt or shame, we can choose to recognize the gift. We have this opportunity to observe our Ego from a new plane of perception and see how its embedded itself into so much of what we experience. And its only through this experiential understanding that the ties that bind can be dissolved and we may continue our journey heavenward carrying less then we were before.
